Is it January?

The tendrils are reaching for the sky, but it feels like January outside! The weather forecasters are even calling for more rain this weekend.

I drove to Yountville to meet a friend for dinner last night and we saw many tourists huddling together from the cold. Everyone looked very nice in their cute summer outfits, but I think they would have easily traded them for a jacket!

Tympany Vineyards 2007 is Now Available!

Great news family and friends!  Our wine has been moved to the warehouse for storage and will be available for shipping beginning next week!  Thank you to those who have placed pre-orders.  I will be in touch with you next week to get your orders processed first!

Bud Break 2011!

Well, it’s a good thing we finished pruning 2 weeks ago, because I noticed bud break on a few of our vines as I returned from my 6 mile walk this morning.  How appropriate that it started today.  It is Louis’s Mother’s Birthday  and she is responsible for naming him after the Jazz great Louis Jordan.  She woud have turned 90 today.  Happy Birthday Mom!

Crazy Weather

Wow!  The weather has been crazy this month!  It started out warm and sunny which brought out the cherry blossoms.  Then, it turned cold and started pouring which left the high hills covered in snow.  I’m so glad the vines are dormant right now and just soaking up all the water.

Happy New Year 2011!

Great news!  Louis and I delivered the labels and capsules to the winery on Friday.   They turned out even better than we hoped and we can’t wait to see them on the bottles!   The 2006, 2007, and 2008 will be run through the bottling line within the next few weeks, and then we will finally be ready to roll!
